Investigation on the structure of the ovary of Oedaleus senegalensis Krauss (Orthoptera: Acrididae)
ABSTRACT: Possible differences in the ovaries of the green and brown forms of Oedaleus senegalensis were investigated. There were no significant differences
between the morphs, although differences were observed between the ovaries of the dry and wet season populations. When the ovaries of the individual grasshoppers of the dry season populations were considered, it was observed that the number of ovarioles in one ovary did not always correspond with the number of ovarioles in the other. Ovarioles of individual grasshoppers of the same populations were not also of the same size. Some were larger than others.
