ABSTRACT: Some Malawian grasshoppers superficially resemble dried grass. In Acanthoxia gladiator Westwood, the head is elongated anterior to the eyes, but posterior to then Acrida sulphuripennis (Gerstoeck). Associated differences in the positions of the cerebral ganglia and in the form of the mouthparts are described
