ABSTRACT
An overall mean growth ratio of 1.26 was recorded for head capsule widths of Pimelephila ghesquierei with five larval instars. A significant correlation coefficient (r = 0.99) between the head capsule width and the body length was obtained. There were five larval instars Increase in numbers of the larva appears to be related to increase in the humid conditions of the palm populations. Thus hydromorphic soil habitats of Raphia hookeri had more larvae on “spears” than those on drier conditions.
